Roger Murray Thompson, 74, of Kimball, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
He was born January 14, 1946 in Port Huron to the late Glenn and Gertrude Thompson. He married Linda Moses on October 2, 1971 in Gratiot Park United Methodist Church.
Roger graduated from Port Huron Northern in 1966 and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He was employed as a pipefitter with Prestolite for 17 years and worked as a custodian for the PHASD until his retirement on July 1, 2010. He was a member of Lakeport Wesleyan Church and was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda; sons, Glenn (Brenda) Thompson and David (Desiree) Thompson; granddaughters, Meghan Thompson (fiancé, Austin Thompson), Malarie, Murissa, Paige, Sofia and Jocelyn Thompson; seven great grandsons; brother, Gary (Pat) Thompson; twin brother, Rodney (Georgina) Thompson; sisters, Mary Ann Campbell, Wendi (Bob) Fair and Denise (Greg) Vincent; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Mary Ann) Moses and Mike Dobson.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the safety and comfort of others.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Lakeport Wesleyan Church. The Reverend Drew Mills will officiate.
Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery, Clyde Township. Pallbearers will be Bill Forbes, Andy Vincent, Erik Moses and Nathan Thompson. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.
