Kathleen "Kaye" Crawford
Kathleen A. Crawford, Kaye to her friends and family, 77, of Port Huron, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 23, 2021.
She was born April 15, 1943 at Aldershot Army Base, England to the late Robert L. and “Pat” Wagar.
Kaye was raised at Camp Petawawa in the Ottawa Valley. There she met Betty Rosche (nee Dawe), and the two of them found all kinds of new and interesting ways to get in trouble. They remained best friends for 67 years and even Kaye’s passing will not separate their hearts.
Kaye met her future husband Daniel L. Crawford at the local U.S.O. Club while Dan was posted to the National War College in Washington D.C. Kaye always said that Dan kept asking her out, and she finally agreed so he would stop pestering her. Shortly after, on July 11, 1964 they were married and would spend the next 55 years of their lives building their family together. Her heart was broken when Dan passed away just over a year ago on January 5, 2020.
After Dan’s discharge from the Army in 1972, Dan and Kaye moved to her homeland, Canada, with their two boys, Michael and Sean. In 1997, they moved back to the United States and settled in Port Huron after Dan’s retirement in 2008.
She is survived by two sons, Sean (Barbara) Crawford and Michael (Ruth) Crawford; grandchildren, Emily and Rosemary Crawford; siblings, Elizabeth (Robert) Dawson, Roberta Landry and Bill (Cathy) Wagar; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Matthew and Amanda Crawford; and brother-in-law, Gary Landry.
Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the safety and comfort of others.
