Freida D Brown
Freida D. Brown, 86, of Port Huron Township, died Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
She was born January 13, 1935 in Monroe City, Indiana to the late Edwin and Opal Perry. She married James H. Brown on June 19, 1955 in Monroe City. They lived in Boswell, Indiana before moving to Port Huron in 1963.
Freida worked in the banking industry for many years, beginning with Peoples Bank, which became Chase. She was also a teacher’s aide for Port Huron schools and did bookkeeping for the Salvation Army. She enjoyed volunteering with the Salvation Army at Christmas as well as with Port Huron Hospital for many years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James; three children, Kyle Brown, Kristen Brown and Keith (Mary) Brown; four grandchildren, Alexandria Brown, Steven Kelch, Kateland Baker and Nicholas Baker; two great grandchildren, Zayla Kelch and Adrian Baker; a sister, Judy (Bill) Tillman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Kenneth (Loretta) Perry and Janice Clark; and an infant grandson, Joshua Kelch.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the comfort and safety of others.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 in First United Methodist Church. The Reverend Drew Hart will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.
