Susanne Margaret Gurnsey, 75, of Port Huron, transitioned into Heaven on Saturday, April 10, 2021.
She was born January 30, 1946 in Port Huron to the late Clarence and Margaret Roskey.
Susanne was the epitome of hard work and strength, never taking a day off and loving every second of it. She worked for most of her life, including many years as a waitress at the El Rancho restaurant where she was well known and loved by all her customers. She raised a loving family, enjoyed vacationing with her loved ones, and sitting by a campfire. She was an avid reader and always had a book in her hand.
Her family will remember her as always having a smile and a suitcase packed, awaiting her next adventure. She was up for anything, always on the go, and full of excitement for any opportunity. She taught us that life was a precious gift to never go wasted. She will be missed on family trips, sleepovers, game nights, and movie nights that were so full of her laughter.
She is survived by her children, Trina Brabaw, Selina (Greg) Maniez, Jana (Paul) Eagen, Myna Reynolds, Ronald (Jeni) Gurnsey II and Jason (Jennie) Gurnsey; grandchildren, Lindsey, Carrie, Katie, Gregory, Dennis, Janae, Falicia, Jason, Remy, Kayley, Kayla, Reece, Lacey, Rhett, Peyton, Nyah, Drew and Grace; great grandchildren, Shelby, Rickey, Maven, Jace, Jaxon, Paisley and Draven; sisters, Marilyn, Mary, Jackie, and Janice; brothers, Myron, Richard and Art; several nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband and forever friend, Ronald Gurnsey Sr; son-in-law, Edward Brabaw; brothers, Mel, Ron, Pat, Danny, David and Robert; and dear sister, Carolyn.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the comfort and safety of others.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Pallbearers will be Ronald Gurnsey II, Jason Gurnsey, Gregory Maniez II, Dennis Green III, Remy Reynolds and Peyton Gurnsey.
