Ronald Harry Depner, 77, of Fort Gratiot, died Monday, May 10, 2021.
He was born November 25, 1943 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Clara Depner. He married Mary Summers on June 25, 1965 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.
Ronald retired from the United States Army Tank Automotive Command in 1996 after 31 years of service. He was a graduate of Geneva College, Beaver Falls, PA. He was very active in Olivet Evangelical Lutheran Church, Detroit for 37 years and St. Martin Lutheran Church, Port Huron for 19 years. He had coached baseball with Warren Village Athletic Club. He loved to bowl and travel. He had visited 39 states and many National Parks and historic sites.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary; son, Ronald C. (Jane) Depner of Yale; daughter-in-law, Dawn Depner; seven grandchildren, Jordyn Depner, Kurtis Depner, Benjamin Depner, Elizabeth Depner Grace Depner, Jonathan Depner and Angel Soulliere; and two great grandchildren, Kylie Soulliere and Daniel Healy. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael E. Depner in 2020.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-7 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the comfort and safety of others.
Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The Reverend Bonnie Klos of St. Paul Lutheran Church will officiate. Friends may view the livestream by visiting Ronald’s obituary page on the funeral home website.
Graveside committal will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton, Pennsylvania.
