Robert J. Schmidt, Sr.

Robert Joseph Schmidt, Sr., 82, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2011.

He was born October 9, 1929 in Port Huron to the late Adam and Leona Schmidt.

Mr. Schmidt was a retired U.S. Postal Service letter carrier and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; four sons, Robert (Julie) Schmidt Jr., Richard “Rick” (Karen) Schmidt, Mike Schmidt and Clinton Schmidt; two daughters, Carole Wilson and Kathy Schmidt; daughter-in-law, Cindy; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly and son, William.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2011 in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas Badley will officiate.

Burial will be in Burtchville Township Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council. Memorials may be made to the family.
