Florence C. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, James Hayes, her sisters Ella and Lucille, and several brothers. She leaves behind to cherish her memories a brother, Jackson, a dear friend, Ethel Gunter, seven children, 18 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many devoted church members and friends to cherish her memories.
She received Christ more than five decades ago, a lifelong member of Bethlehem Temple Church as well as Pentecostal City Mission Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, a nurse, as well as a grandmother in the Grand Parent program in the public school system for 10 years. She ran a home day care center and took care of all the children in the neighborhood whether the parents had the ability to pay or not. When the children came thy never wanted to leave! She had an infectious smile and sense of humor. Everyone wanted to always be near such a loving, selfless sister, mother, and friend. God called her home to be with Him. She was devoted to Christ and now resting in heavenly peace.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
