Vere D. Rosbury
Vere Dalton Rosbury, 88, of Kimball Township, formerly of Bloomfield Hills, died peacefully at home on Friday, October 28, 2011.
He was born March 14, 1923 in Detroit to the late George Elmer and Ethel Rosbury.
Mr. Rosbury had a 30 year career in the auto industry, retiring from General Motors in 1988. Before his illness, he was very active at Community of Christ Church as a High Priest and played clarinet with the New Horizon Band. He enjoyed music, photography, travel, baseball and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Winkler Rosbury; his three children with his deceased first wife Shirley Hodgins Rosbury, Carol (David) Rodwell, Keith (Lorraine) Rosbury and Blake (Lori) Rosbury; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five step children; twelve step-grandchildren; and sixteen step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011 in Wadhams Grove Community of Christ. High Priest Kirk Kramer will officiate.
Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wadhams Grove Community of Christ or Hospice of Michigan.
