Richard Clayton Roberts, 87, of Port Huron died Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
He was born April 30, 1934 in Yale to the late Arlay and Lillian Roberts. He married Marie E. Peetz on December 24, 1955 in Rogers City. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2018 after 62 years of marriage.
Richard was a member of Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was employed as a mechanic for many years before his retirement. He loved to play Bingo and was a very sociable person.
He is survived by five children, Dave (Francy) Roberts, Debbie (Norb) Czajkowski, Dale (Elaine) Roberts, Don Roberts, Barb (Ray) Swan, 13 grandchildren, David, Geoffrey, Stephanie, Stacey, Angela, Mark, Daniel, Amy, Eric, Joshua, Brandon, Cody and Ryan; 20 great-grandchildren, Hayleigh, Laney, Brady, Logan, Conner, Mason, Gracie, J.J., Adalynn, Polly, Tyler, Morgan, Keeley, Braylon, Sophia, Josh, Avery, Lily, Landon and Lydia; great-great grandson, Tremaine Jr. “Fuzzy”; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Duane Roberts; a great-grandson, Kaden Zick; sisters, Eileen Hunter, Waneta Reckker and Coleen Szweb; and brothers, Glenford and Ralph Roberts..
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 27, 2021 in Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Aaron Duve will officiate.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Yale. Pallbearers will be Richard’s grandchildren, David Roberts II, Brady Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Brandon Swan, Tyler Swoffer and Mark Ashbaugh.
