Lula P Petty

July 27th, 1927 to September 23rd, 2021

Lula Pearl Petty, 94, of Port Huron, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 23, 2021, after a short stay at Marwood Nursing and Rehab.

She was born July 27, 1927 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Oscar and Hattie Dunlap.

Lula was employed with Sperry’s Department Store as an Elevator Operator, retiring after more than 20 years of service. Years earlier, she was employed with Black River Country Club for 5 years during the golf season.

Lula’s (Mom’s) life was rich with blessings. She was a long-time member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She loved traveling and visiting with her family and friends in both the U.S. and Canada; they were her most cherished treasures. We hope all who knew her will recall fond memories of their encounters with her. She loved so many of you all.

She is survived by two children, Edna “Judy” (William) Boldizsar and Michelle (Stephen) Smith of Port Huron; son-in-law, George Ragoo of Whitby, ON; five grandchildren, Joanne, Sheraton, Shawn, Jason and Heidi; and nine great grandchildren, all who live out of state. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Ragoo; and her son, Michael Dennis Petty.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, in Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Due to COVID restrictions at the church, a service will be held at 1:00 p.m. for those whose last names begin with A-M and a second service at 3:00 p.m. for those whose last names begin with N-Z. Exceptions can be made.
