Obituary

Dorothy Yvonne Walker, 70, of Port Huron, died Friday, October 1, 2021.

She was born February 7, 1951 in Elberton, GA. She married Johnny Walker on June 10, 1972 in Port Huron.

Dorothy was employed at Prestolite Wire and T.J. Maxx for many years before her retirement. She was very involved in missionary work in the community with both Mt. Olive Baptist Church and later Restoration Christian Community Church. She enjoyed decorating her home, shopping and her yearly trips to visit family in Georgia, North Carolina and Alabama.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny; children, Bernadette (Gerald) McKelvy and Johnny Walker Jr. (Michelle Wurmlinger); grandchildren, Jeffery Walker, Aaliyah Muma, Deandre Swinson, Khloe McKelvy and Gerald McKelvy II; great grandchild, Jakari Muma; brothers, Tyrone (Kaki) Clark and Larry Clark; sisters, Alice Maxwell and Traci Maxwell; mother-in-law, Mary A. Walker; sister-in-law, Marilyn Walker; brother-in-law, Charles Walker; aunts, Susie Katherine Thomason, Earlene Rucker and Mary Ruth McIntosh; God-daughters, Tyna Scott-Edwards, Maxine Brown, Cinnamon and Brianna Rigmaiden; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Myrtis Seals and Elizabeth Woodyard; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony “Tony” Walker; mother, Annie Mae Rucker; father, James “Bull” Maxwell; brother, John Rucker; and sisters, Geneva Walker and Lizzie Mae Heard; and brothers, Michael, Tommy, Roe James and Clifford Maxwell.

Private family services will be held in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Alex Crittenden will officiate.

A burial service which is open to the public will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township, followed by a luncheon. Pallbearers will be Robert Walker Jr., Reshawn Walker, Anthony Walker, Keith Walker, John Scott, Jamaal Collier, Thomas Rucker and Doug Norman. Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie Rucker, Demarr Dinkins, Clarence Walker, Joseph Walker Sr. and Dock Walker.
