Karen S Blaine

Karen Sue Blaine, 62, of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Marysville, died Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

She was born September 14, 1959 in Port Huron to Gloria and the late Joseph Vargo. She married Alexander M. Blaine on October 8, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Karen graduated from Marysville High School in 1977 and received her Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University. She was a special education teacher until her retirement in 2011. Karen was an active advocate and enjoyed helping others suffering from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

She is survived by her husband, Alexander; children, Corey (Tori) Weber and Kara (Reed) Faitak; mother, Gloria (William) Hrisca; siblings, John (Wendy) Vargo, Kathy (Scot) Sanders and Joseph (Becky) Vargo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Blaine will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
