Donna M. Kerr, 88, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Donna was born August 14, 1933 in Lansing, Michigan to the late John and Addie May Watson. She married the love of her life, Harry Kerr, on December 28, 1953 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2000 and greeted her in heaven on Wednesday.
Donna graduated from Port Huron High School class of 1952. In 1981, Donna and Harry moved to Auburn, California where she managed a mobile home park and built many lifelong friendships. Fifteen years later they moved to Bradenton, Florida where they lived out their retirement before Donna returned to Michigan after Harry’s passing. She was a master quilter, and her Baltimore Quilt was featured in renowned publications and won several quilt shows. Donna was not only a quilter, she enjoyed teaching the craft to others. Her quilts were magnificent, beautiful, and full of love and devotion for the craft. She was proud of the family her and Harry’s love created. Spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was life’s greatest “treat”. Donna also enjoyed cuddling up to read a good book and watching the birds out her window. Donna will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by four children, John Kerr, Michael (Robin) Kerr, Laura (Stephen) Bricker and Tom (Karen) Kerr; daughter-in-law, Tami (Kurt) Kading; ten grandchildren, John (Shari Hoffman) Kerr, Mike Kerr, Autumn Kerr, Heather (Jason) Carrier, Craig Kerr, Karly Kerr, Megan (Mark) Catanzaro, Justin (Jessica) Bricker, Nathaniel (Sabrina) Bricker and Branden Kerr; 16 great-grandchildren, Seth, Adriana, Mihretu, Reid, Jillian, Collin, Riley, Dylan, Oliver, Calvin, Marleigh, Aubrey, Hadley, Adrianna, Elijah and Avaya; a sister, Doris Rowland; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Harry; a son, Harry Kerr Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy (Hank) Lock.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, December 11, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Phil Whetstone will officiate.
