Maurice R. “Wally” Roe, 67, of Fort Gratiot, died Monday, January 24, 2022.
He was born July 23, 1954 in Port Huron to the late Stanley and Evelyn Roe-Laginess.
Wally graduated from Port Huron Northern and was employed with the Fort Gratiot Township Department of Public Works and Fort Gratiot Fire Department. He enjoyed going to Kentucky and visiting his family there. He was a talented musician and played in many bands in the Port Huron area. He enjoyed spending Sundays riding his moped and watching football with the family.
He is survived by three children, Dustin (Elizabeth) Roe, Joshua (Hannah) Roe and Audrey Roe; three grandchildren, Paige, Claire and Darcy Roe; twin sister, Marlene “Tootie” (Thomas) Law; brothers, Nelson (Patricia), Robert (Gail) and Lorne “Micky” (Rose) Roe; many nieces, nephews and special nephew, Lance (Molly) Roe; and great-niece, Evelyn Ray Roe. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Roe; God parents, Grace and Carl Johnson; and step-father, Maurice Laginess.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 in First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Robert F. Ehr will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot Township. Pallbearers will be Dustin, Josh, and Lance Roe, Kyle Duffy, Bryan O’Connor and Donald Nuss.
