Mary J "Jeannie" Billiet

October 5th, 1937 to March 4th, 2022

Our sweet sister, Mary Jean “Jeannie” Billiet, 84, of Smiths Creek, left us to rejoin her family in Heaven Friday, March 4, 2022.

She was born October 5, 1937 in Detroit to the late Frank and Mary Billiet.

Jeannie was employed at Goodwill Industries for many years. She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts. She was a volunteer with the Council on Aging and an avid bowler. Family was her life. She especially loved buying little things for everyone, eating out with a family member and going on special outings with her friend, Tina.

She is survived by her brother, Charles “Butch” Billiet (Julie Greenia); sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Johnson, Sylvia Carter, Fran (Alan) French, Alice “Cookie” (Fred) Jokie and Debby (Ron) Storey; nieces, nephews, Rosetta McMahon (Peter Staver), Terri Mininni, Michelle Rogers, Rochelle Fischer (Kirt Lawson), Dawn (Mike) Eby, Tonya (Donald) Dyer, Ronica (Jim) Monzo, Shannon (Todd) Postill, Jill French Culp, Tammy Verbeke, Dondra (Paul) Leffler, Raynard (Amanda) Jokie and Mike (Courtney) Farr; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and a dear friend who was like a sister to her, Marlene Garrett. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Marna Billiet; and brothers-in-law, William “Duke” Johnson and Charles “Chuck” Carter.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Jeannie’s great-nephew, Pastor Tyler Verbeke will officiate.

Inurnment will be in St. Phillips Cemetery, Columbus Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clair County Council on Aging.
