R. June Bailey, 93, of Fort Gratiot, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022.
She was born June 3, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio. She married Allen L. “Bud” Bailey on February 6, 1954 in Port Huron. He died May 11, 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents, Captain Robert and Eileen Vanderlake.
June was a registered nurse for many years prior to her retirement. She was an avid golfer and member of First Presbyterian Church and Child Study Club.
Following a period of living in Sylvania, Ohio, she returned to Port Huron to the water, freighters, and many friends she loved.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Bailey; son, Blake (Suzanne) Bailey; grandchildren, Victoria (Caleb) Jobe, Emily Bailey and Jacob Bailey; great grandchildren, Henry and Oliver Jobe; brother, Robert Vanderlake; sister, Janet Luce; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Ann Vincent.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Roxie Davis will officiate.
