Obituary

Leo Larocque, 73, of Kimball Township, died Saturday, May 21, 2022.

He was born August 7, 1948 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada to the late Guillaume and Yvette Larocque.

Leo moved to the U.S. when he was 19 years old, and was employed as a Tool and Die Maker for many years. Leo loved spending time with his family. He often traveled to Canada to visit with his family and friends there as well. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time under the Blue Water Bridge watching and feeding the birds. Leo had a good sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. He wore his heart on his sleeve, and loved to crack jokes. He let his inviting personality connect with others, even if they were a complete stranger to him. He was quick to help others and would give to anyone in need. He donated to the THAW fund to assist those who are unable to pay their heat, water, or electric bills. Leo will be greatly missed by family and friends, but has left a lasting impact on all those who have been in his presence.

He is survived by his two daughters, Brigitte (Todd) Cameron and Genevieve (Gerald) Helland; two grandchildren, Mikayla and Jesse Cameron; sister, Lise Larocque; brother, Normand Larocque; special niece, Colleen Tomlinson (Doug Soikie); three nephews, John West, William and Daniel Larocque; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Guillaume and Yvette Larocque, and niece, Christine Tomlinson.

Memorial visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Marysville Funeral Home, 1200 Michigan Ave., Marysville, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Celebrant Laurie Wilson will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society or to the THAW Fund. To send condolences, visit pollockrandall.com
