Doris J Lloyd

April 15th, 1927 to August 18th, 2022

Doris J. Lloyd, 95, of Port Huron, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 18, 2022 after a long illness.

She was born April 15, 1927 in Port Huron to the late Archie and Clara Henry. She married Robert E. Lloyd on December 27, 1947 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Port Huron. Mrs. Lloyd was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, who passed away in 2004.

Mrs. Lloyd graduated from St. Clair County Community College, and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Michigan State University. She taught at Everett High School in Lansing, Port Huron High School, and retired from St. Clair County Community College, where she served for 20 years as Department Chairman of the Office Education Department.

Doris was an avid reader, loved to play bridge, and enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. She was a life member of the Michigan Education Association, a member of the St. Clair County Community College Retirees Group, the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, the Port Huron Hospital Auxiliary and also volunteered in the hospital gift shop. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir for many years and held many offices in the Faith Fidelis Guild.

She is survived by her nieces, Karen Coen, Sara Pinto, Lisa (John) McGuire, Kim (Lowell) Hudson and Penny (John) Schweihofer; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins as well as many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin of California.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in Faith Lutheran Church, Port Huron. The Reverend Mark Huff will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
