William F Streu

William Frederick Streu, 88, of Marysville, formerly of Mount Clemens, died Friday, January 27, 2023.

He was born September 3, 1934 in Mount Clemens to the late Ellis and Laura Streu. He married his childhood sweetheart, Sheila M. Charbeneau, on September 20, 1952 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Mount Clemens.

Bill was a truck driver for many years. He was a proud longtime member of the “Mount Clemens Old Crowd”. He and Sheila enjoyed traveling and camping with friends, and loved watching the freighters pass on the St. Clair River.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Sheila; two sons, Alan (Pamela) and James (Judith) Streu; six grandchildren, Eric Streu (Mary Kuffa), Kurt (Heather) Streu, Megan (Daniel) LaGore, Kenneth (Kaci) Streu, Justin (Jackie) Streu, and Arlene (Jason) Rottiers; fifteen great grandchildren, Tyler, Jakob (Mackenzie), Alex, Travis, Zakie, Kaiden, Asher, Logan, August, Kennedy, Liam, Hadley, Donald, Sheila and Derek; a sister-in-law, Donna Streu; brother-in-law, Neil (Carolyn) Charbeneau; many dear longtime friends; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Randy; sister, Shirley (Jack) McCallum; and two brothers, Robert and James (Lena) Streu.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 in St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market St., Mt. Clemens, with visiting beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Mount Clemens.
