Shirley A MacDonald

Shirley Ann MacDonald, 85, of Marysville, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, January 30, 2023 surrounded by her family.

She was born August 23, 1937 in Port Huron to the late Minnie McCulloch and Leo Teets and married her high school sweetheart, Ronald G. MacDonald, on April 28, 1956 in Port Huron. After 56 years of lighting up the ballroom dance floor together, he preceded her in death on November 9, 2012.

Shirley retired from Marysville Public Schools in 1994 after 26 years of service, ranging from a supervisor at Morton Elementary to the kitchen at Marysville High. Shirley loved spending time with her ever-growing family and especially taking her grandchildren out for golf cart rides. She was a huge animal lover and enjoyed the company of her little dog, Lovey.

She is survived by three daughters, Debbie (Tony) Elliott, Dawn (Jerry) Varty and DeAnn (Dave) Watson; seven grandchildren, ShayLyn (Tim) Sharrow, Nicole (Jason) Kovach, Stacey (Jason) Brockdorff, Kelly (TJ) Murphy, David (Nicki) Watson, Derick (Aleiha) Watson and Nick Watson; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; brother, Ron McCulloch; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; and her sister, Marion.

Private family services will be held.

Inurnment was in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Marysville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of St. Clair County SNAP or the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
