Kurt W Gorbutt
Kurt Wesley Gorbutt, 79, of Worth Township, died Monday, April 3, 2023.
He was born January 12, 1944 in Ashland, Wisconsin to the late Gordon and Gerry Gorbutt. He married Adele Ohlendorf on September 4, 1976. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2011 after 35 years of marriage. He married Marsha Kelly on June 12, 2014 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Kurt was a graduate of Port Huron High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and then received a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Michigan University. He was employed at Southeast Milk in Florida for 14 years before his retirement. An aficionado of the nautical, he loved boating, the water, restoring old wood boats and building model boats. He was a member of Chris Craft Antique Boat Club and Trinity Episcopal Church in Lexington.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha; two sons, Adam (Jennifer) Kuhn and Benjamin Gorbutt; daughter, Katharine Gorbutt; three stepchildren, Melissa (Doug) Schott, Leland (Scott) Kelly and Christopher Kelly; five grandchildren, Chase and Alex Kuhn and Justin, Caleb and Thomas Gorbutt; eight step-grandchildren, Jacob and Cassidy Schott and Ashton, Alyssa, Camden, Brandon, Megan and Paisley Kelly; sister, Caythe (Jim) Brady; and brother, Michael (Marion) Gorbutt. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Adele.
Inurnment will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, Lexington or the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
