David L Duckworth, Sr.

David Lee Duckworth Sr., 81, of Port Huron, passed away at his home on Monday, April 17, 2023.

He was born March 22, 1942 in Port Huron to the late Lawrence and Evelyn Duckworth. He married Ruth Ann Kotzke on December 28, 1963 in Port Huron.

David served in the U.S. Army. He was employed with the City of Port Huron and retired after 35 years. He loved to camp, spend time with his family and loved watching the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #158.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth; his children, Sharon Duckworth, David Jr. (Jennifer) Duckworth, Scott Duckworth, Mark (Veronica) Duckworth and Mary Kay (Walton) Mosher; grandchildren, Ashleigh Harris, Austin (Jordan) Duckworth, Danielle (Joe) Hastings, Dallas (Kami) Duckworth, Brandon, Daniel, Nicholas, Emileigh, Aubreanna and Brayden Duckworth, Kristyn Mosher and Kendalyn Duckworth; great grandchildren, Nolan, Rhett, Ryder, Adalynn and baby girl due in July; brothers, Mike (Vicki), Chuck and Harry “Skip” Duckworth; brothers-in-law, Roland (Isabelle) Kotzke and Leroy Simmons; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Duckworth; and many sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Moose Lodge followed by a luncheon.

Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery, Port Huron with military honors.
