Joan Lester Reid, 92, of Marysville, died Sunday, May 21, 2023.
She was born March 15, 1931 in Port Huron to the late Patrick and Eava O’Neill and grew up in Sparlingville. Joan married Don F. Reid on September 10, 1949 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2006 after 56 years of marriage.
Joan was a licensed beautician and was also employed in food service at Marysville High School for many years. She was a member of Marysville Methodist Church, Marysville American Legion Post # 449 Auxiliary and the St. Clair County Council on Aging.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Bill) Rich and Kathy (Jack) Robson; two sons, Ron (Brenda) Reid and Patrick (Colleen) Reid; eight grandchildren, Holly (Joel) Leffler, Ryan (Judy) McNichol, Kyle (Tami) Reid, Lee (Heather) Reid, Scott (Taylor) Reid, Joshua Reid, Nick and Danielle Borowski; eleven great grandchildren, Riley (Katie) Leffler, Avery Leffler, Cole McNichol, Taylor Reid, Brodie Thomlinson, Kyler, Ana, Zelda, Landon and Audrey Reid, and Delaney Smith; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends Poppy Goddard and Mari Kamidoi. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Beth Fenner, Bertha Smith and Eavaleen Barber; two brothers, Louis and Harold O’Neill; and dear friend, Pat Reynolds.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Reverend Curtis Clarke of Marysville United Methodist Church will officiate. Family and friends may view the service livestream by visiting Joan’s obituary page on the funeral home website.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be Kyle, Scott, Lee, Joshua and John Reid and Nick Borowski.
