Ruby Emma Styer
Ruby Emma Styer, 98, of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
She was born August 17, 1925 in Mills, Michigan to the late William and Esther Tanton.
Throughout her life, Ruby was a hard worker. In her younger years, she worked on the family farm milking cows and caring for her children. She spent 13 years in Brandon, Florida where she was a cake decorator for Winn Dixie. Upon returning to Michigan, she was employed at McDonalds for many years, finally retiring when she was 87 years old. Ruby was a Godly woman and strong prayer warrior. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and quilting. Her family was everything to her.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bartlett; son, David Fink; daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Fink; seven grandchildren, Margaret Ann (John) O’Mara, John (Corrine) Fink, Cindy (Jesse) Baker, Tina (Thomas) Harvey, Tracy (Jeff) Birgy, Tammi (Jay) Dudley and Sara (Scott) Zeller; several step-grandchildren; many great grandchildren, including Nicholas, Alyssa, Samuel, Joseph, Timothy, Jenna, Brookelyn, Tyler, Christian and Orion; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gary (Josie) Fink and John “Jay” Fink; infant daughter, Dianne; son-in-law, William Bartlett; sister, Bertha Tanton; and two brothers, Billy Jay Tanton and Eugene Tanton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the Salvation Army Citadel with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Major Aaron Ortman will officiate.
Burial will be in Downing Cemetery, Deckerville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Accentcare Hospice.
