Kenneth Simmons
On Friday, November 10th, 2023, Kenneth L. Simmons Jr, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 76.
Ken was born in Port Huron to the late Kenneth and Helen Murphy Simmons. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Upon his return from the Army, Ken married the love of his life, Cathy Sue Studer Simmons. They shared fifty-four years together prior to his passing. Together they had two daughters, Angela Marie and Dianna Lynn.
After graduation from St Clair County Community College, Ken began his dream job as a United States Immigration Inspector and later Customs and Border Protection Officer. Ken loved his job so much he often said "I would do this job for free". Ken retired in 2010 which then allowed him to spend more time with his loving grandchildren, Matthew, Noah, Elisabeth and Jamie. Ken's grandchildren were the lights of his life. Ken is also survived by two sisters, Dianne Haines of Texas and Debbie Waddell of Sarnia, Ontario and brother, Wayne Snyder of Sarnia, Ontario. Ken was predeceased by brothers Jon Lee Simmons, William and James Snyder of Sarnia, Ontario.
Private family services will be held at a later date with Military Honors under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Ken will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and humor. Ken always rooted for the underdog and loved nothing more than a good hockey fight. Ken's most recent love was the television show, Shark Tank.
Ken will be truly missed by many but never forgotten. We love you more!
