James F Schlinkert

James Frederick “Jimmy” Schlinkert, 70, of Fort Gratiot, went to his eternal home on Tuesday, July 3, 2024, where he was welcomed by his father and mother, Fred and Dorothy, and his sisters, Dawn and Carlena.

He was born August 22, 1953 in New London, Wisconsin.

Jimmy had a love for horror movies, good music, smoking his pipe, a good glass of scotch and was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan. He had a great sense of humor that brought smiles to many.

He was loved and cared for by the compassionate caregivers at Barss Residential for more than 30 years. Ted, Stacy, Mike, Katie, Angela, Abby, Terra, Jessica, Larissa and many more, made his life so much better. These people were more than caregivers, they were his friends.

He is survived by his sisters, Sue McGlynn and Madonna (Michael) Lukitsch; daughter, Michelle Schlinkert; and nieces, Amber, Ava and Sophia.

A memorial service to remember Jimmy’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Lakeshore Woods, 4851 Lakeshore Rd., Fort Gratiot. Deacon John Fitzmaurice will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair.
