Mark A Newsome

November 1st, 1967 to July 20th, 2024

Mark Andrew Newsome, 56, of Marysville, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Born on November 1, 1967, in Detroit to Libby S. and Donald L. Newsome, Mark was a man whose life was as vibrant as the cars he loved to restore.

Mark began his career in auto-body repair and painting after being captivated by the craft at the young age of 13. Under the mentorship of a neighbor who owned a body repair shop, Mark developed a passion for cars that defined his career and hobbies. He not only excelled in his profession but also enjoyed the thrill of 10-second racing and the camaraderie of car shows.

Beyond the garage, Mark enjoyed deer hunting, appreciating the tranquility and challenge of the outdoors. Those who knew Mark knew him as a man with a sharp wit and a generous heart, always ready with a joke and eager to lend a hand.

Mark’s personal life was filled with love and laughter when he met Kristin A. Hathon through a mutual friend. The couple married on February 10, 2007, in Port Huron, weaving their lives together in a tapestry of joy and mutual respect.

Mark’s legacy is one of passion, humor, and resilience, echoing in the lives of those he touched. His warm spirit and the smile in his eyes will be profoundly missed by family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Kristin; son, Dominick Newsome; stepsons, Shawn Parent and Ryan (Jenna) Krause; sisters, Janie (Donald) Marcum and Debbie Conger; and a close-knit group of nieces and nephews, Tommy (Toni) Marcum, Lisa (Clayton) Hash, Nikki Fenger, and Kayla Conger. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Rob Conger.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in Living Water Fellowship with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Randall Gearhart will officiate.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made to Living Water Fellowship instead of floral arrangements.
