Joanne Burgett
Joanne Ruth Burgett, of Marysville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 30, 2012.
She was born to the late August and Marion Heering in Port Huron and was a lifelong area resident. She married Donald Burgett on July 1, 1950 in St. Clair.
Mrs. Burgett owned Joanne’s Styling Salon for over 49 years. She was a member of Marysville Assembly of God Church. The joy of her life was spending time with her family and dancing with her beloved Donald.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald; seven children, Pamela (Stephen) Bonner, Charlotte (John) Howell, Donald (Jane) Burgett II, Mary (Owen) Baker, Leslie Burgett, Tamara (Dale) Fite, and Anna (James) Randall; grandchildren, Scott (Jenny) Bonner, Brett (Tina) Bonner, Therese (Dan) Damman, Charles Avison, Curtis (Tiffany) Avison, Catherine (Ray) Mitchell, Cameron Howell, Misty (Bill) Hohmann, Donald (Angela) Burgett III, Ben (Stacy) Burgett, Brandon Baker, Nicole, Elaina, Les, John, Danielle, Ricky and Wyatt Burgett, Torina, Hunter and Faith Fite, Taylor, Blake and Connor Randall; 24 great grandchildren and another great granddaughter on the way; two sisters, Marie Zimmer and Florence Thoms; a sister-in-law, Wanda Heering; several nieces and nephews; and all her beauty salon family.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilson Heering and Charles (Gladys) Heering; two sisters, Marion “Babe” (Albert) Lepien and Frances “Bub” Heering; parents-in-law, Frank and Mary Burgett; and brothers-in-law, Andrew Zimmer and Robert Thoms.
Visitation will be 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012 in the Marysville Assembly of God Church. The Reverend James Turner will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Joanne’s grandsons.
