Mary Farquhar
Mary Lou Farquhar, 72, a lifelong Port Huron resident, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 3, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Velma Weaver. She married Carmen E. Farquhar on February 15, 1969 in Port Huron, and from that day on, Carmen called her “my precious Mary Lou”.
Mrs. Farquhar was a self-employed adult and child caregiver in the area for many years. She was a longtime member of Port Huron Assembly of God, secretary of the Salvation Army Golden Agers, and a member of the Griswold Street Retirees Club. She loved worshipping her Lord and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Carmen, five children, Faith (Dennis) Gohl of Port Huron, John (Lori) Fleming of Indiana, Paul (Karen) Fleming of Port Huron, James (Wanda) Farquhar of Port Huron, and Mary Kay (fiancé Martin Galvan) Farquhar of Port Huron; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; four sisters, Nadine Livingston, Eileen Rome, Carol (Dana) Kuehn, and Sharon (Don) Thiede; two brothers, Weston (Grace) Weaver, Frank (Gladys) Weaver; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two dear friends, Betty Lawson and Beverly Martin.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alexis; two sisters; and one brother.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 in Port Huron Assembly of God. The Reverend Robert Corby of Port Huron Assembly of God and the Rev. Daniel Stewart of Woodside Bible Church will officiate.
