Karen McGregor
Karen Michelle “Mumslee” McGregor, 63, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday morning, February 9th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born May 3rd, 1961, in Port Huron, Michigan.
Karen’s children were her world, and she poured her heart into raising them and taught them to love life as much as she did. She was a free spirit, and had a passion for gardening, music, singing, dancing and baking. Karen had a heart full of wonder and approached life with an adventurous spirit that was truly unmatched. Whether she was taking pictures of nature; going to concerts; walking the beach collecting sea glass, rocks, and fossils; putting together puzzles at her kitchen table or visiting her children in the many places they’ve lived, she found joy in every moment.
Some of Karen’s favorite adventures were visiting the Redwood Forests in Sequoia National Park, watching the sun rise over the mountains in Shenandoah, seeing the fall leaves in the mountains of Vermont, and standing next to the waterfalls in Yosemite. Wherever she was, she was the person having the most fun in the room. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel valued and loved and always put others before herself. There was truly no one like Karen; she loved fiercely and she loved deeply. Her legacy will forever remind us to cherish the beauty in life’s little moments.
Karen is survived by her children, Amber Arispe (Noah Dupes) and Marisah Arispe (Erin Kilbride), Jackie Reid, Jodie Reid, Shawn Michael (Paula) Arispe, Christal (Kevin) Law, Chris (Jackie) Arispe, and many others who considered her a second “mom”; many grandchildren, including Jaycie Reid, Lincoln Brooks, Aaron Sherlock and Eli Brooks; her mother, Patricia (Mike) Watson; siblings, Kym (Tom) Jackson, Kerry Bartlett and Michael Mark (Renee) McGregor; lifelong friend, Michael Reid; best friends, Cathy “Mertz” Langolf and Diane “Pickle” Wilson; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her human family, Karen adored her pets and her children’s pets, including Baby Mae, Sigmund, Echo, Duffy and the late Kitty Reid - treating them with the same love and affection she showed to all those around her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael “Micky” McGregor; and brother-in-law, Tim Bartlett.
A service honoring Karen’s beautiful life will be held on Valentines Day, Friday, February 14, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate. Please wear bright colors in honor of Karen’s vibrant spirit.
