Shirley A Crawford

Shirley Ann Crawford, 89, of Port Huron, died Sunday, February 9, 2025.

She was born September 29, 1935 in Port Huron to the late John and Ada Dell, the youngest of 11 children. Shirley was very proud to receive the DAR “Good Citizen” award during her senior year of high school. She graduated from Port Huron High School in 1953 and then attended SC4 and CMU before graduating from Wayne State University with a B.A. in Education.

Shirley met Alan Crawford through mutual friends and they were married on August 17, 1957 in Port Huron. Mrs. Crawford taught with the Port Huron Area School District for 34 years, shaping many young lives. Although she spent most of her career in elementary classrooms, Shirley moved to 6th grade at Fort Gratiot Middle School before her retirement.

In her free time, Shirley loved gardening, sewing, reading, shopping for clothes, and relaxing by her pool. She was also a fierce Euchre player and was known to host great tournaments with Alan.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alan; two sons, Jeffrey (Kimberlie) Crawford and Derek (Joanna) Crawford; two grandchildren, Lynsey (Mike) Abraham and Michael Crawford; two great grandsons, Palmer and Sutton Abraham; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings.

A memorial visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
