Gaige L Gilbert

Gaige Louis Gilbert, 27, of Oak Grove, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Gaige was born on May 27, 1997. He grew up in Saint Clair County, Michigan and graduated from Marysville High School in 2015 with perfect attendance.

Gaige proudly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a paratrooper, an expert marksman, and a motor transport operator. He embraced life and encouraged others to do the same. Gaige loved vehicles and he loved working on them. He took every opportunity to travel both in military and civilian life. He never missed a chance to drop in and surprise his friends and family or to help a stranger in need.

Gaige is survived by his parents, Charisse (Paul) Balius and Charles W. (Kristine) Gilbert; five siblings, Skylar Gilbert, Cody Gilbert, Mackenzie Fournier, Ashley Tovarez, and Paul C. Balius; and five step-siblings Tanner (Lynda) Balius, Richard VanAlstine, Riley Zdral, D.J. and Gabe Richards.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 25, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
