Shirley B Cobb

November 14th, 1943 to May 20th, 2025

Shirley Betty Cobb, 81, of Kimball Township, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

She was born November 14, 1943 in Cass City, to the late Harold and Aline Armstead. She married Lawrence “Larry” Cobb on August 29, 1964 in Marysville.

Shirley was employed as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years before her retirement in 2012. She took pride in maintaining her lawn, insisting on mowing it herself. She enjoyed tending her garden and filling her home with plants and flowers, especially Christmas cactuses in the winter. Shirley kept an immaculate home and even helped her brother and her husband, Larry, build their house. She also made and sold “tin man” statues. She was a longtime member of Wadhams Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry; two sons, Michael D. (Darlene) Cowell and Lawrence (Amy) Cobb II; three grandchildren, Brett Cobb, Courtney (Sean) Cobb and Jordyn Cobb; four brothers, Robert (Sharon) Armstead, Rich (Cheri) Armstead, Mark (Cynthia) Armstead and Harold (Debra) Armstead; sister-in-law, Catherine Armstead; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy (Jerome) Cobb; two brothers, Joe (Karen) Armstead and Ron Armstead; and two brothers-in-law, Robert and Donald (Mary) Cobb.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Pastor John Jobe of Wadhams Baptist Church will officiate.

Inurnment will be in the Caswell Cemetery Columbarium, Kimball Township.
