Gordon H Smith

Gordon Henry Smith, 75, of Clyde Township, died Sunday, November 23, 2025.

He was born May 7, 1950 in Brown City, Michigan to the late Wilbur and Bernice Smith. He married Cheryl Meyers on September 18, 1979 in Avoca.

Gordon was employed with New Haven Foundry for 33 years. He also ran his own construction and excavation business for over 30 years. Gordon loved helping family and friends with their construction projects, traveling and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cheryl; three children, Richard Smith, Gordon (Beth) Hill and Earl (Rochelle) Smith; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Eleanor Genaw, Stella Hoskins and Wil (Kathy) Smith; brothers-in-law, Brian Carrier and William Shirkey. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Karen Carrier, Orville “Chuck” Smith, Julie Smith and Elaine Shirkey; and sister-in-law, Sue Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 8, 2025 in Faith Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Mark Huff will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or D.A.V. Chapter #12.
