Marilyn E Dwyer
Marilyn E. Dwyer, 81, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
She was born February 19, 1931 in Detroit to the late Garnette and James Dwyer.
Mrs. Dwyer served as a teacher and principal at Lakeport Elementary School and as principal at Roosevelt Elementary. She earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and master's degree from Wayne State University. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, bowled in the teacher's league, and was a founding member of the Blue Water Reading Council. She owned horses and attended races in London, Dresden, Detroit and Windsor and loved spending time with her dogs. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and playing cards.
She is survived by an aunt and uncle, Dr. Joseph and Maxine Wyatt; several cousins and many friends, including special friends and caregivers, Virginia McClelland and Karen Norton.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 in Lakeshore Presbyterian Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend William Wingrove will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Water Area Humane Society.
