Francisco A "Franc" Cassar

Francisco “Franc” Anthony Cassar, 50, of Kimball Township, died Saturday, March 14, 2026.

He was born October 26, 1975, in Rochester to Emanuel “Manny” Cassar and Paula Cassar-Newton. He married Laurie Hand on September 14, 2002, in Auburn Hills.

Franc was employed at Cargill Salt for many years. He was an avid sports fanatic and enjoyed cheering on the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Lions. He loved dragons, reading and enjoyed camping with his wife and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Laurie; their fur babies, Thor and Bella; his parents, Manny Cassar and Paula Cassar-Newton; a brother, Eric Cassar; step-brother, Jim (Amanda) Newton; nieces and nephews, Ellie Cassar, Tyler Bostian, Aiden Newton, Skylar Hand, Darron Dillon and Emily Holloway; and beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his in-laws, Robert “Bob” and Linda Hand; grandparents, Chester Anthony Breske and Jean Kowalski; and fur babies, Spike, Abby and Biscuit.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township.
