Jack H Reid

Jack Hawley Reid, 95, of Marysville, died on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

He was born January 18, 1931 in Vassar to the late Don and Lou Reid. He married Joan A. Runke on May 6, 1961 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2021 after 59 years of marriage.

Jack honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He was a teacher with the Clintondale School District for many years before his retirement. Jack was an avid sports fan and was a member of the Marysville Chain Gang for 60 years. He was a long-time member of Marysville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his son, John (Patricia) Reid; daughter, Jill Reid; five grandchildren, Steven (Audrey) Beery, Edward Beery, John Reid (Daniel Pierce), David (Kaitlyn) Lyons and Elizabeth (Thomas) Mason; seven great grandchildren; brother, Amos (Mary) Reid; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Don Reid Jr.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Curtis Clarke will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy. Pallbearers will be Elizabeth Mason, John Reid, Daniel Pierce, Steven Beery, Edward Beery and David Lyons.
