Lloyd C Pettee
Lloyd C. Pettee, 79, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, April 20, 2026 after a long illness. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side.
He was born December 28, 1946 in Mt. Clemens to the late Lloyd and Margaret Pettee. Lloyd married his beloved wife, Avis Balhoff on October 2, 1992. They made their home in Fort Gratiot and also spent 16 years wintering in Florida, where Lloyd volunteered and worked all around the Brooksville Wesleyan Village. He also loved traveling, with his most recent trip being to Alaska.
Lloyd was employed with Acheson Colloids for 33 years before his retirement, a job that he loved. He also enjoyed working outside with his blue tractor. He built two family homes, with the last one being out in the woods in Baldwin.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Avis; five children, Ryan (Melissa) Pettee, Sarah Pettee, Andrea Astry, Lisa (Bill) Lynch and Lori (Mark) Meier; 16 grandchildren, Shane (Shannon), Will, Brianna, Brienne, Cailyn, Wyatt, Kendra, Leah, Austin, Faith, Amanda (Mike), Tres’, Trevor (Ashley), Tyler, Kyle and Korey; and 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Terry (Pam) Pettee and DJ Pettee; sister, Valerie Sweet; two brothers-in-law, Roy (Pat) Balhoff and Rick (Liz) Balhoff; four sisters-in-law, Olive (Jim) Hamilton, Janet Miller, Rinda Kuempel, Karen Strickler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his sister, Gail (Glen) Delong; and three brothers-in-law, Ervin Balhoff; Ron Strickler and Bob Miller.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Lloyd’s childhood friend, Robert Fiedler will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wyatt Pettee, Shane Pettee, Tyler Wiegand, Amanda Grundner, Tres’ Lumpkins and William Lynch.
