Lydia Meter, 91, of Port Huron, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness. She was born July 18, 1920 in Bayard, Nebraska to the late Peter and Molly Heinbuck, who immigrated from Russia to Germany and then to the United States. She married Henry Meter on December 14, 1935 in Bayard, Nebraska and moved to Port Huron in 1941 with their two daughters. She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Henry; two daughters, Shirley (Donald) Porter and Patricia (William) Steiner; grandsons, David Porter, Brian Porter and Douglas Huston; granddaughters, Cindy Conant and Kimberley (Steven) Westbrook; great grandson, Bradley Westbrook; great granddaughter, Kayla Porter; a great great granddaughter, Jasmyne Westbrook; two brothers, Robert Heinbuck and Alex Heinbuck; and many nieces and nephews. She was proud to be part of a five generation family. She was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Bradley Gerald. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. The Rev. John Carrier will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran School.
