Wayne Furman

July 19, 1933 to June 12, 2026

Wayne O. Furman, 92, of Marysville, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026 at the Blue Water Hospice Home.

He was born July 19, 1933 in Sayre, Pennsylvania to the late Wayne and Frieda Furman and was raised in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania where he was an Eagle Scout. He married Eileen Miers on September 15, 1956 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey.

Wayne attended Lafayette College before receiving his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and his master’s degree from Central Michigan University. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, including 18 months in the Signal Corps in Korea. Wayne spent most of his working years as an accountant for several large companies. In college, he was a member of Sigma Alpa Epsilon Fraternity. He was a 50-year member of the Elks Lodge in Port Huron and a former member of Moose Lodge in Venice, Florida, where he spent many winters. Both Wayne and his wife Eileen have been members of First Presbyterian Church in Port Huron for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eileen; children, Sally Friedland, Wayne (Cinthia) Furman Jr., and Janet Tuttle; grandchildren, Lisa Friedland (Rick Croley), Kelly Friedland, Adam Friedland, Kristen Tuttle, Aaron Tuttle, Steve Krizman and Kimberly Hoekstra; three great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Georgeann (Richard Jr.) Wambold and Bernice Miers. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Kevin Friedland; and sister, Lynne Furman.

Private graveside services will be held in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. The Reverend Kathy Tessin will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
