Donn Kunz

It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Donn Eastman Kunz of Port Huron on July 22, 2026, at the age of 99.

Donn was born September 1, 1926, in Port Huron to the late Thornton and Helen (Eastman) Kunz, the third of six children. Donn met Jeannine Moorehead Luce in 1959, sparking a unique 50-year relationship filled with understanding, love, and happiness. Donn and Jeannine were married in Toledo, Ohio, on April 4, 1992. After 17 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on December 13, 2009.

Donn graduated from Port Huron High School and then attended Michigan State University. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. Donn’s career was devoted to agriculture, serving farmers through various farmer-owned organizations. He retired as Vice President and General Manager of Mid-States Terminals, Inc., a Tri-State Regional Grain Marketing Cooperative in Toledo, and also served in several leadership positions in industry associations related to agriculture. After leaving his hometown for career opportunities as a young man, Donn was thrilled to return to Port Huron with Jeannine after retirement to enjoy their remaining years in their home on the banks of the St. Clair River.

Donn enjoyed spending time with his family and friends while boating, hunting, fishing, golfing, snow skiing, watching freighters, and cheering on the Detroit Tigers.

Cherishing his memory are his daughter, Cheri (Dennis) Davoll; grandchildren, Justin Davoll, Corey (Tashina) Davoll and Samantha (Brian) Marvin and their children, Alyssa and Dylan. Left to honor his memory are his son, Charles Luce; grandchildren, Stacy Luce and Jamie (Carrie) Luce; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Luce, Hannah Pilch, Steven Walter and Breann (Anthony) Demaline and their child, Makenna. His legacy lives on through his niece, Ronda (Rick) Bingham, their children, Noehl Bingham and McKale (Gregory H.) Bingham, and their child, Atticus; and his nephew, James Reaume, and his children, Meagan Reaume, Justin (Tatiana) Reaume, and their children, Jeric, Nakena, and Nolan. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law, Bonnie Kunz, and her sons, Johnathon and Geoffry Kunz. Donn’s spirit will be fondly remembered by his extended family in Virginia and Italy, and by many wonderful friends scattered across Michigan and Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Donn was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert W. Kunz, Thornton S. (Dorothy) Kunz Jr., James R. Kunz; and sisters, Judith G. (Lyle) Reaume and Carolyn S. Holley.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate.

Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Donn loved watching his great grandchildren show animals and learn through the 4-H program. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the St. Clair County 4-H or Fulton County (Ohio) 4-H.
