Robert G Nicholas

Robert George Nicholas, 88, of Port Huron, died Monday, August 24, 2026.

He was born January 6, 1938 in Marysville to the late George and Sophia Nicholas.

Robert enjoyed many hobbies and especially looked forward to visiting the Goodells Farm Museum to admire the antique steam threshers. He also loved watching the ships pass by and spending time sitting along the river. Robert was a member of the Port Huron Landlords Association.

He is survived by his children, Cindy Nicholas, Rob (Cheri) Nicholas, David Nicholas, Diane (Doug) Hill and Teri Smith (Rodger Capps); step-sons, Mark Nitzel and Todd Nitzel (Dawn Houle); grandchildren, Neil Brusch, Amanda Brusch, Lydia Nicholas, Gabrielle Humphries, Todd Nitzel Jr. and Jacie Trombley; great grandchildren, Zane Trombley, Brody and Nolan Brusch; brother, Dan Nicholas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; and siblings, Gen Bukowski, Suzanne Anglebrandt and John Nicholas.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate.

Inurnment will be in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Marysville.
