Mary A Meyers
Mary Ann Meyers, 90, of Port Huron, died Sunday, August 30, 2026.
She was born March 23, 1936 in Port Huron to the late Joseph and Agnes Kodet. She married Wilhelm Bennert on October 9, 1954 and they were married for 30 years until his death on June 10, 1984. She married Richard D. Meyers on August 24, 1991 and they were married for 17 years until his death on May 19, 2008.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her kind soul. She went back to school to become a licensed practical nurse. After graduating in 1982 she was employed for 16 years at Yale Community Hospital and River District Hospital before retiring on January 1, 2002. She volunteered with Mid City Nutrition and with Habitat for Humanity, where she enjoyed working in both the ReStore and on job sites. She was a longtime Brownie Girl Scout Leader and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mary Ann enjoyed reading, knitting hats and Christmas stockings for everyone she knew, and baked cookies, cookies and more cookies.
She is survived by her seven children, Sheryl (Ted) Hoffman, Lorelei Wrubel, Coleen (Stanley) Crockett, Brian (Karen) Bennert, Heidi Meyers, Wilhelm K. Bennert III and Melinda (Mike) Duckworth; step-children, Thomas Meyers and Linda Dobbs; step-daughter-in-law, Teresa Meyers; 24 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Eugene Wrubel; step-son, Robert Meyers; brother, Elmer (Lavina) Kodet; and sister, Lillian (Ralph) Sopha.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026 in St. Paul Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Reverend Brandon Hunt will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Gregory Bennert, Tom Lewandowski, Tim Gleason, Joshua Fye, Brad Bennert, Karl Bennert and William Hatfield.
