Barbara A Soboleski

Barbara Ann Soboleski, 64, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at the Blue Water Hospice Home.

She was born May 29, 1962 in Mount Clemens, to the late Raymond E. and Joanne Curfman. After growing up in New Haven, Barb’s family moved to Marysville when she was in 9th Grade.

Incredibly talented in the kitchen, Barbara was a chef in various capacities for her entire life. She cooked in restaurants including the Pilot House, Midtown Barbeque, Joseph’s, DelaGuardias, Gallaghers, Sam’s Coney Island, The Red Pepper, and the Junction Buoy, where she met fellow cook Kenneth W. Soboleski. They married on October 26, 1996 at Marysville Assembly of God Church. Later, Ken and Barb catered events together, operated Chubby’s on the River for a short time, and cooked often for their church, family and friends.

A woman of strong faith, Barbara was a minister at her church, Only Believe Ministries. She and Ken also served a community breakfast for many years on Sunday mornings at Only Believe.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Kenneth Soboleski; two children, Anthony Soboleski and Hannah Soboleski (Tyler Sawdon); grandchildren, Holly, Samuel, and Ezekiel; sisters, Sandra, Ann, Denise, Rochelle; brother, Allen; and dear lifelong friends, Emma (Mike) Turner. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond (Carol) Curfman II and Joanne (Al) Dubay; brothers, Raymond III and David; and sister, Janet.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026 in Marysville Funeral Home. Pastor Gary M. Rogan from Only Believe Ministries will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
