The Reverend Donald R "PD" Doerzbacher

The Reverend Donald Ralph “PD” Doerzbacher, 76, of Fort Gratiot, graduated to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 27, 2026.

He was born April 20, 1950 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Fred and Mary Doerzbacher. He married Sheryl Cook on January 31, 1975 in Pittsburgh, PA.

PD received his undergraduate degree from Capital University and his Masters of Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary. He served churches in Ohio, North Dakota and Indiana before coming to Our Saviour Lutheran Church in 1993. He enjoyed raising chickens and ducks. He loved gardening, taking photos and cooking for friends, family and the community.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sheryl; children, Hope Doerzbacher, Faith (Michael) Smith, Joy (David) Tournoux, and Don (Christen) Doerzbacher; 7 grandchildren; brother, Robert (Patty) Doerzbacher; several nieces and nephews; and his cat Eddie.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Doerzbacher Jr; and Oscar the cat.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026 in Our Saviour Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Lay Minister Scott Pike will officiate.
