Jack R Curtis

Jack R. Curtis, 80, of Marysville, passed away, Thursday, November, 15, 2012 after a long illness.

He was born September 30, 1932 in Bay City to the late John and Leona Curtis. He married Vera J. Samson on July 31, 1954 in Angola, Indiana.

Mr. Curtis retired as Plant Manager from Smith Meat Packing after 48 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, watching sports on TV and working around the yard. He was a Life Member of the Marysville Masonic Lodge #498 F. & A.M.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Vera; two children, Michael Curtis and Barbara Acker; two grandchildren, Justin and Adam Acker; two sister-in-laws, Irene Curtis and Waneta Curtis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Porrett and two brothers, Robert and Donald Curtis.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.

Inurnment will be in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Parkinson’s Research.
