Sharon T Orlando

Sharon Therese Orlando, 74, of Columbus Township, died Thursday, January 17, 2013.

She was born July 18, 1938 in Detroit to the late William and Anna Gace. She married Dominic Orlando on March 18, 1966 in Detroit.

Sharon enjoyed gardening, trips with her best friend, Sandy and local fairs and carnivals. She liked playing the slots at the casinos, doing crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble and Yahtzee. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially "her boy," Marcus.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dominic; a daughter, Anne (Kevin) Orlando-Brewer of Fort Gratiot; three grandchildren, Marcus Sutherland, Zachary and Mira Brewer; a sister-in-law, Joanne Gace of Warren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, William Jr. and Orville; and an infant sister, Germaine.

Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday and 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Orlando will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. The Reverend Joseph Horn will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Philip Neri Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sharon's family.

Memorial contributions may be made for Mass Cards at Holy Family Parish or any charity.
