Robert R. Wood, Sr., 79, of Marysville, died Friday, April 26, 2013 in Troy.
He was born August 2, 1933 in Applegate, Michigan to Earle J. and Reva F. Wood. He married Myrna J. Klaas on January 3. 1957 in Angola, IN.
He graduated from Cros-Lex High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Robert enjoyed NASCAR, baseball, and bowling.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Myrna J.; four daughters, Natalie (Keith) Hooker of Ortonville, Mylene (Florian) Klein of Roscomon, Constance (Craig) Geatches of Macomb, Jennifer (Joe) Hawlik of Clinton Twp.; a son, Robert (Nicole) Wood, Jr. of Lexington, KY; 12 grandchildren; 3 great granddaughters; two sisters, Catherine (John) Philips of Watertown and Donelda Wood of Forester; a brother, John (Carol Ann) Wood of Ferndale; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joan Albright and Phyllis Hauff-Conrad.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May, 1, 2013 in Our Saviour Lutheran Church. The Reverend Donald Doerzbacher will officiate.
Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the United States Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council..
Memorials may be made to the Gift of Life.
