Richard C. Herman, 79, of Marysville, went to be with his wife in Heaven on Thursday, July 18, 2013.
He was born November 19, 1933 in Port Hope to Arthur and Elsie Herman. He married Alma “Bonnie” McBee on June 23, 1956 in Everett Washington. She died November 26, 2009.
Mr. Herman worked for 45 years as a machinist at Mueller Brass, until the time of his retirement. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was stationed in both Korea and the Philippines. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by five children, Pam (Gary) Hill, Debbie (Roy) Khanna, Rick (Chris) Herman, Zac Herman and Lyle Herman; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Mason and Delores (Ron) Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Herman was preceded in death by his two brothers, Arthur II and Marvin Herman.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in the Marysville Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Ralph Barteld will officiate.
Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans.
Burial will be in the Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
