Thomas P Boskovich
Thomas Paul Boskovich, 91, of Marysville, died Thursday, August 29, 2013.
He was born November 13, 1921 in Detroit to the late George and Stella Boskovich. He married Marilyn Wellman on May 12, 1945 at St. Gregory’s Church in Detroit. She died on December 11, 1994.
Thomas worked as a mailer for the Detroit Newspaper Agency for 46 years until his retirement in 1993. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned the Purple Heart during the invasion of Normandy. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Moose Lodge #158, and the V.F.W. Charles Schoor Post #796. He was a hardworking man who was very much loved by his family and friends.
He is survived by three children, Thomas G. Boskovich of Big Rapids, Michele (James) Parrinello of Scottville, and Jill (Richard) Stringer of Smiths Creek; a son-in-law, Richard Dailey of Freesoil; nine grandchildren, Kelly Boskovich, John (Tamika) Colangelo, Renee Colangelo, Ray (Jaclyn) Parrinello, Jaime Voisin, Jeniffer Parrinello, James (Laurie) Parrinello, Joseph Parrinello, and Richard (Faith) Stringer Jr.; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joanne Boskovich; a brother-in-law, Michael (Jane) Wellman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Dailey; a grandson, Ryan Stringer; five brothers, George, Mike, Frank, Bill, and Edward; and a sister, Dorothy Yanish.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 in St. Christopher Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Arthur Baranowski will officiate.
Inurnment will follow in the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.
Memorials may be made to the Blue Water Hospice House.
